HomePriceHistory - One Place Online Property Research
Aug 22nd 2008 - HomePriceHistory.com launches user generated property research site
HomePriceHistory.com is a free real estate website that gives users the ability to track any property or house they have ever owned, lived in or wanted to live in.
As co-founder and Managing Director Robert Reith says "HomePriceHistory gives buyers, owners and renters the power to collect all their property research in the one place. This allows users to build up a portfolio of properties which they can refer back to and use to help determine future prices. As anyone who has looked for property will tell you, you can never have too much information at hand when buying a house"
Its simple to use layout and free access means anyone with an email address can register on the site and start to build their own property database.
The idea began when the founder of HomePriceHistory.com was looking to buy his first home. After identifying the suburb he wanted to buy in, he started to monitor the property market in that area. This was done by creating a list (a crude combination of property brochures, loose bits of paper and an Excel spreadsheet) of properties which he had an interest in. The list included asking prices, expected sale prices, comments on the area and everything in between. Armed with this information, he was able to determine what he could expect to buy with his budget.
When he realised that three of his friends were creating similar lists in the same area, they all decided to share their research so they could all benefit. It was at this time that the concept of HomePriceHistory was born.
HomePriceHistory.com now offers this functionality for free so people can track the prices and changes to the houses they've lived in, properties they've invested in, and homes they aspire to buy.
